Our scoring systems will automatically process and display your results.

You can also export your results to PNG or PDF for further review.

Vsk5 Race Results CSV Files

After each multiplayer race, Virtual Skipper 5 (Vsk5) automatically records the race results in a CSV (comma-separated values) file. These files are stored in the following directory:

C:\Documents\Vsk5\Results

CSV File Format

The generated CSV files contain four columns, but they do not include a header row. The columns are structured as follows:

1. Finish Position – The final ranking of the player in the race.

2. Race Time (milliseconds) – The total time taken to complete the race, recorded in milliseconds.

3. Player Login – The registered login name of the player.

4. Nickname – The in-game display name of the player.

Since some of our scoring and performance applications may require a header row, users may need to manually add it or use our Race Results CSV File Editor to format the files accordingly.

File Generation Rules

• Multiplayer results are usually recorded only if all boats finish the race. If a race is restarted before all players cross the finish line, the results file will contain all invalid results.

• If the race is restarted, Vsk5 generates a CSV file where all values are negative scores (-1), making the file invalid. If a restarted race is then finished, the results will be recorded.

• A CSV File Scrubber is available to automatically remove invalid race result files containing negative scores from your Results folder.

• To ensure a valid results file is generated, wait at least a few seconds before closing the race instead of immediately advancing to the next track.

Solo Player Results

• Valid solo race times are typically only recorded when the race is set up as a multiplayer event with just one player.

• Players should test their CSV file generation process to ensure their results are recorded correctly.

By understanding these guidelines, players can ensure their race results are properly saved and formatted for use with our scoring and performance applications.
